What does the Korean word "부제소" mean?

I came across this term in a recent Korean-English translation project concerning a patent dispute.

The term “부제소”came up a few times, and in one instance appeared as “부제소합의.”

The term doesn’t seem to appear in any dictionaries, so you may get confused when translating the term.

I would propose the term “covenant not to sue.” The term “covenant never to sue” may also be appropriate.

From a Korean encyclopedic source:

부제소합의란 소송을 제기하지 않기로 약정하는 것으로 부제소특약이라고도 한다.

“부제소합의” refers to a covenant not to sue, whereby an agreement is made to not file a lawsuit.
