무항생제 non antibotic (x) – no-antibiotic, antibiotic free (o)
The image is from a sign posted at a livestock processing plant in rural South Korea. It would appear that this is a direct translation – not an accurate one.
The Korean word has a Chinese-derived prefix, meaning “no.” However, in English it appears that the absence of something is explained in the suffix. In other words, the better translation here describing the livestock processing plant would be “antibiotic free.”
If the Korean term was in a sentence describing the meat, I would propose the translation of “antibiotic free meat.”
